I bought a new Hitachi HTS725050A9A364 500GB 7200RPM hard drive a year ago. I split it into two partitions. One has OS X Yosemite installed, and another one has Windows 7. It was working fine on my MacBook until my son used my Mac and installed some games. It became slow and stopped functioning 5 days ago. I tried to repair it, but Disk Utility couldn’t. The details say, “The file system check exit code is 8.”
