Does Yosemite have NTFS write support?

Are there any changes made to the native NTFS support in Yosemite? I’m having trouble getting write access to my 1TB NTFS USB drive. I’ve tried using both the label and UUID in fstab, but no luck. Manually mounting it doesn’t work either. I also get a warning from mount_ntfs saying that the file system is read-only, although I can’t even access it. Any advice is appreciated!

I don’t think so. From what I know, Apple has never officially stated that macOS supports writing to NTFS. Editing the fstab file might make it work, but it can sometimes cause access issues. Why not use a reliable NTFS driver for Mac? I’m sure there are some good ones out there.

Yes, I’ve seen a few commercial NTFS drivers for Mac, but I’m not sure which one to choose.

I don’t know the brands that support an old OS like Yosemite. But if you decide to upgrade to macOS High Sierra or later, iBoysoft NTFS for Mac is a good choice. Here’s the direct download source of the NTFS for Mac driver if you’re interested. (Free Download)
