I’ve been using a Lexar USB for a while with no issues. But recently, after shutting down my Mac and reboot, I inserted the USB drive and received the error, " The disk you inserted was not readable by this computer." I ejected it several items but always ended up with the same message. I tried to repair it in Disk Utility but it failed. I can’t afford to losing data on the drive. Please help!
There are several reasons why your Lexar USB drive is suddenly unreadable on Mac, including:
- The drive is corrupted.
- The drive has an incompatible file system.
- The disk has hardware issues.
- The disk is encrypted.
Since you’ve used that drive on Mac fine for some time, I recommend you recover data on the drive with iBoysoft Data Recovery for Mac, then reformat it.
This is the most efficient way to fix the unreadable drive on Mac.
