Ugh, I finally uninstalled CleanMyMac because it kept nagging me with pop-ups, but my Mac still feels sluggish.
I just drag it to the Trash, but how about the leftover files? I want every last trace gone, anyone know how to fully purge this thing?
Dude, I feel your pain. CleanMyMac buries its tentacles deep. Here’s what I did:
- Use their official uninstaller (reluctantly). Download it from MacPaw’s site—search “CleanMyMac Removal Tool.”
- After running it, manually hunt down these folders:
Library/Application Support/MacPaw/CleanMyMac /Library/LaunchDaemons/com.macpaw.CleanMyMac
~/Library/Caches/com.macpaw.CleanMyMac
There are many related files, you can also use Go to Folder to find them then delete.
Why not try some easy but more convenient way? CleanMyApp worked for me without touching Terminal or finding numerous files in Finder.
- Download, install, and open it.
- Click Grant Access to give it permission.
- Tick CleanMyMac in the list and click Uninstall.
- Click Continue uninstall.
The app and all the leftovers will be removed, have a try.
