I can read my NTFS drive on my MacBook Pro but I can’t write to it. I installed Paragon NTFS driver and the driver works. It can help me write to my another NTFS hard drive without problem. In the “Get Info” pane under permissions, it says “Read only” for my account. However, under “Write Status” in Disk Utility, it says I can read/write the drive. I tried to repair the disk in Disk Utility, but it says no errors detected. I don’t want to reformat the disk as it has about 500GB of my important work files. Does anyone tell me what to do?
I think the problem may be the Paragon NTFS driver. Have you tried other NTFS drivers? I’ve used iBoysoft NTFS for Mac, which always works fine with me. You can try uninstalling the Paragon NTFS driver and then installing iBoysoft NTFS for Mac. This tool will automatically mount your NTFS drive in full read-write mode on your Mac.
Since you say that you can read to your NTFS drive, you can copy all the files on the drive to your Mac. Then, reformat the drive in Disk Utility to exFAT. Disk Utility fails to repair the drive, rendering me can’t dope out any other solution to fix the drive.
Try to quit Paragon NTFS for Mac, unplug your NTFS drive, then replug it and re-launch Paragon NTFS for Mac.
I’ve tried this tool. It helps me read and write to my NTFS drive. Excellent software!
My Mac doesn’t have 500 GB of free space.
It doesn’t work for me.
