Can't Repair or Mount External Hard Drive on Mac

My MacBook Pro can no longer access a very important drive of mine. When I repair it in First Aid, it says “First process has failed. If possible, back up the data on this volume.” When I click the Mount button in Disk Utility to mount it, it says " Could not mount “disk2s2”. (com.apple.DiskManagement.disenter error -119930868.)."

How to access this external drive on Mac?

There are two possibilities. First, your external drive has hardware issues. Second, your external drive is corrupted.

Consider recovering your files with iBoysoft Data Recovery for Mac and reformatting the drive.
