I’m unable to remove M3 BitLocker Loader from the Trash permanently.
Every time I try to delete it, I get an error message saying the item might be locked and that I should check its permissions.
I’ve already unlocked the file and changed its permissions to allow both reading and writing, but it still refuses to go away.
I’ve also checked my system to make sure the file isn’t stored anywhere else, but I can’t find any other trace of it.
I think that this issue can happen on macOS when an app or its related files are protected, still in use, or owned by the system.
If you can’t permanently delete M3 BitLocker Loader from the Trash even after unlocking and changing permissions, try the following steps:
- Press the Option key on your keyboard.
- While holding the Option key, right-click the Trash icon and select “Empty Trash.”
- This way can bypass some file protection checks and may delete stubborn files.
M3 BiLocker Loader is a light-weight tool that can not only help you read and write to BitLocker-encrypted drives on a Mac, but also let you encrypt external drives with the BitLocker Encryption method on a Mac.
It is a necessary tool we Mac users need in our daily life and work.
So, I advise you to keep it on your Mac. Or, you can download iBoysoft Bitlocker for Mac, an alternative to M3 BitLocker Loader.
iBoysoft BitLocker for Mac supports macOS Tahoe and Apple Silicon Macs.
Maybe M3 BiLocker Loader is still running in the background as it detects the BitLocker-encrypted drives connected to your Mac.
You can open Activity Monitor to check if any program related to M3 BitLocker Loader shows up there. Then, force quit them and try emptying your Trash again.
