How to Access a USB Drive that Is encrypted by Bitlocker on iPad Pro

I can not open a USB Drive that is encrypted by Bitlocker on my iPad Pro. It doesn't allow me to enter the password of my encrypted USB Drive when I connect it to the iPad. Therefore, I can not open my encrypted USB Drive on my iPad. I contacted Apple Support on this case but they requested me to contact Microsoft. I contacted Microsoft, but they told me it’s an Apple issue to update their iOS to allow users to enter the password for USD Drives that are encrypted by Bitlocker. I contacted Apple Support again and they asked me to contact Microsoft again! Is there a resolution to this issue please?

Hello, you should know that BitLocker is not available on non-Windows platforms natively.

So you need a third-party app to read the files on an iPad, iPhone, or macOS device. I am sorry there are no apps for iPads to unlock the drive that is encrypted by BitLocker.

If you need to read a USB drive on multiple devices that are not all Windows, you may want to consider a BitLocker alternative. You are suggested to apply iBoysoft BitLocker for Mac to unlock the files and then copy or transfer them on your iPad.

  1. Free download, install, and launch it.
  2. Insert the drive into your Mac.
  3. Click Open icon and choose File manager.
  4. Enter the password and click Unlock.
  5. After opening, it will list files stored in your BitLocker drive.
  6. Copy or transfer them to your iPad.

Hope you can use the files on iPad finally.
