Transfer Files From An External Hard Drive to Another on Mac

I am a rookie in Macbook Air family, I want to copy all files on an external hard drive to a new one to have a second back up, but I don't know how to do it quickly without pulling out my PC or any other peripherals. Any help would be appreciated!

If you can read and write to both external hard drives: 

  1. Simply connect both external hard drives to your MacBook Air. 
  2. Open the Finder window for the drive, hit 'Command A' to select all files, and drag them all to the new drive's Finder window.

Before cloning, please make sure:

  • The target drive has a larger capacity than the source drive.
  • Make a backup of your target drive as cloning will overwrite all data on it.
