Why Can't Final Cut Express Export A .mov File?

I've been using Final Cut Express v4 on a MacBookPro with Mac OS 10.12.6 (Sierra) for several years. I've never had trouble exporting project files to .mov files. However, Final Cut Express failed to export the project to the mov format recently. It generates a 70K.mov file that opens to a white window and plays for only about 1 second. I attempted to export to both of the available Quicktime formats. But it fails, too. Can anyone tell me what's going on?

Hello, my friend. According to your trouble, I have two thoughts. The first one is going to check the free space on Macintosh HD or the external hard drive used to store the exported mov files. If the drive has insufficient space for the files to store, then you can't export mov files successfully. You can use iBoysoft DiskGeeker to clean storage on your machine.

The second one is to check if there is any update available on your device, including the updates to the Final Cut Express and to your machine operating system.

Good luck~
