The Photos app on macOS Ventura and later versions now have the ability to automatically detect duplicate photos and merge them to keep only the one with the highest quality.

That being said, you can upgrade to macOS Ventura to find and delete the duplicates in the Photos app if your Mac is still compatible with it.
However, if your Mac is too old for macOS Ventura or you prefer to keep the current macOS, you'll need to find a third-party duplicate photo cleaner for your MacBook Pro.
If you need to clean duplicate photos saved inside a folder, you can use iBoysoft MagicMenu. It's a versatile right-click menu utility that enables you to right-click on a folder and select "Similar Photos" to find and delete duplicate photos.
